The generously proportioned saltwater swimming pool uses an automatic sanitising and filter system.
The shallow end corner of the pool has a separate overlapping circular plunge pool with built in seats and five water jets. This relaxing tub has its own clear water, which uses a UV sanitiser and filter system.
Both the pool and plunge pool have under water lighting.
The whole of the pool area is covered by a low sectioned cover made from aluminium and polycarbonate. The individual sections move on tracks and overlap each other so that they can be stored at either end of the pool if required.
In the closed position, access under the cover is via sliding doors one each side of the pool. The cover is excellent for retaining heat and allows for an extended swimming season and evening swimming if the mood so takes.
The 10m x 5m swimming pool has a flat bottomed 1m deep shallow end, accessed by full width steps and shelf. A steep sloping section leads to a 2m deep end of the pool.
External to the pool area is a free standing solar-heated hot and cold water shower.
Situated beneath a concrete pergola is an outdoor dining area. This includes a large mobile stainless steel Broil King Imperial grill cooker. The gas-fired barbeque is a commercial grade grill that is ideal for professional quality outdoor cooking.
This outdoor dining area is enclosed by a side gate and glazed screen wall, with flower bed, roses and bay trees. This provides plenty of shelter and shade, but further protection is provided by a retractable wind/shade screen that can be located on one of two sides.
The climate in Portugal is ideal for outdoor living and the design of this property provides many options to enjoy it to the full.
Near to the outdoor dining area is a slightly sunken area with Portuguese calcarda flooring surrounding an old oak tree (unfortunately dead but cut to take canvas sails for shade). A curved glazed wall makes this a secluded protected area. Separating this area from the main South facing terrace is a planter wall with built in granite seat and small alcove for local wood storage.
On the opposite side of the rear of the house is another calcarda paved area around another similar oak tree. This is a sunken area accessed via wide stone steps between curved planters. Subtle lighting makes this another secluded area.
The patio area between the house and pool is slabbed. Built against the house is a stone clad seating area. There is a similar seat at the end of this terrace, which accommodates a removable seat that provides outdoor storage.
On the other side of the swimming pool is the apartment roof sun terrace. This features an seating area with a built-in planters, mood lighting and outdoor speakers.
The large square apartment chimney is built as a feature with an alcove providing space for a small charcoal barbeque. The surrounding walls incorporate brick lighting.
