Near to the villa’s outdoor dining area is a sunken patio with Portuguese calcarda flooring surrounding an old oak tree (unfortunately dead but has been adapted to accommodate canvas sails for shade). A curved glazed brick wall provides further protection from the sun and wind. You will also find built-in seating, planters and a small alcove for handy wood storage.
On the opposite side of the rear patio is another calcarda paved area accessed via wide stone steps flanked by curved planters that lead down into a secluded and shaded area. Another similar oak tree provides provision for much needed shelter from the Portuguese sun.
